I've got 4 hot hot hot new releases tonight...only available at CKS Designs @ The Deck!

So...any SL Designer will tell you that swimsuits (along with lingerie) are among the most frustrating pieces of clothing to make in SL. It might seem counterintuitive...after all they are tiny and thus shouldn't require much work, right? Wrong. They are evil little things that like to taunt you relentlessly with this little piece here...that little piece there...that still isn't. quite. right. I designed clothing for over a year in SL before I finally bit the bullet and made a serious go of making some swimwear...and every summer since, I've tackled them again...always starting from the ground up...always trying to improve on my last efforts. It's a fun challenge...and I'm happy to say that (after starting in June...and getting derailed by rw over and over) this year's are finally finished YAYYY!!!!

This year's are a varied bunch of 4 bikinis...and w/o any further yakkity yakking from me....let's get to them! I'm gonna go light on the piccies so you don't have to scroll thru a bunch to see 'em all...;)

'Sparklebum' is a sexy little string bikini with sequin accents and sculpted ties. It's a little glitz & glam and just the sort of thing for the girl who likes to be the center of attention. 8 sparkly colors are available. ;)

'Going Commando' is a skimpy little number all full of camoflauge-y & ruffly goodness...with sculpted ties & some fun color combos! I liked the combination of camo & ruffles...sort of girly yet not. Without doubt the least skin coverage of the 4...in 6 color combos:

The 'Dotty Bikini' (the last one made and prolly the least creatively named :P) is a cute bra-top style with criss cross straps in the back. Both top & bottom are accented with little gold bows...it's a very fun & girlie style that comes in 10 bright colors:

Andddd last but certainly not least is 'First Mate'...a nautical inspired bikini with prim ties & a teenie little cheerleader-style skirt. In 3 colors...this one is great for mixing & matching!

So as promised...a cpl more new dresses today @ CKSD! ;)

First up is a little summery confection with a dangerously cleavage-y square cut bodice. It didn't start OUT this cleavage-y...but...I kept adjusting...and adjusting...and then I LIKED the cleavage-y so there it stayed. The texture on this one is a soft 3 color gradient that sorta reminded me of those rocket pops we used to get when we were kids. (And well...if you don't know what a rocket pop is uhm...look here!) Therefore, I decided to call it 'Rocket Pop'. Cos hey, once I have a name, who am I to question that?!! It's finished off with a floaty layered prim skirt and I am just LOVING this dress. Summer can't come soon enough!!! This one comes in 4 yummeh colors:

A little while back, Tesa Jewell blogged about these fantastic go-go boots from Kakaue Kreation which of course I had to run right over and purchase. Back when I started designing, mod-era clothing was something I was very inspired by and I did a lot of mod designs...and these boots inspired me to want to make more! One of the first designs I ever made (long before I started blogging) was a dress called 'Mode' which featured a vertical half-black/half-white pattern. Since I HOPE I'm a better designer than I was in early 2006...I decided to do another version using this same color block pattern...hence 'Mode II'. It's the first time I've ever done a new version of an old design...I feel so OLD! :P It's not a redo of the original but rather a different style of dress using the same color pattern. This one is a sleek, short mini with a halter-style bodice. I bemoan the sl templates which allow us only one sleeve and one foot...so I couldn't make contrasting sleeves or tights...but I still think it's pretty hot. ;)

Whee some new pretties today at CKSD as I get my butt in gear to get a pile of stuffs done today!!

I've been eagerly awaiting spring/summer and well...these releases show it for sure!!

I've been wanting to do a new schoolgirl set for a while...and so had an idea for a shorter-length stripey sweater...and decided to experiment with that...and...I'm SOOOO thrilled w/the results. 'Teacher's Pet' is a set I'm loving...with that stripey sweater that comes in a plain version and a version with a shirt beneath that includes sculpted cuffs & collar. I also added Sasy's fave (well maybe it's just Mel's fave :P): a no-glitch skirt with contrasting solid/stripe texturing and some matching knee-highs. (Panties are included of course...should you have the desire to wear them. :P) As I said, I'm really very happy with how this one turned out...especially the color combos...of which there are 7. Here come some piccies yayyy!!

I had an idea to do a cute, ruffly top with stripe & polka dotty patterns...and once I started on the textures...it kinda turned into this cute tube top that has a folded down front detail with a babydoll-type ruffle. I'm really happy with how the textures came out on this one...there's a big 'ol cutie-cute sculpted/flexi bow on the back which I love. Of course the tube is totally finished and wearable sans ruffle too! I decided to call it 'Bubbly' cos that's how it feels to me...just light and happy and summery and well...bubbly!! 10 colors available...check it out!:

I haves another new pretty todayyyyy...a sweet little dress I decided to call 'Stella'...it's a sheath-style cocktail dress with a one-shouldered bodice that ends in rhinestone trim & three thin straps in back. It's very understated...with an asymmetrical system skirt and a little sheer shoulder pouf providing some extra detail. It's available in 5 colors...plus an extra RFL Exclusive color (shown above) that's only available during RFL season. ;)

Right now it's only available at the CKS Designs RFL Clothing Fair location. Once the fair's over it'll be available at the CKS Designs main shop in Selby.

80's Fabulous!

RFL Season is upon us...and as usual it's kicked off with the RFL Clothing Fair!! If you haven't been yet...what are you waiting for?!!!! There's tons of yummy stuffs to be had...and you can feel good about shopping b/c it's for a great cause, right? RIGHT? Right! ;)

Sooo...I've some newness today that can be found only at the CKS Designs RFL Clothing Fair location for the duration of the fair. After that (the fair ends on 3/22) it'll be available at the CKS Designs main shop in Selby. ;)

I started this set during February...and like a lot of things it started out as one piece with a heart pattern...then evolved into a set. I decided at the time to call it 'Stupid Cupid'...but yanno...as we all know sometimes life gets in the way and I ended up not finishing it before V-day...BUT...I'd already gotten a substantial portion done so well...it's hard enough naming things anyhow...so the name stuck. :P

Sooo what's I have is a long-sleeved, thermal tee with sculpted cuffs...a short vest...tie...jeans & skirts & sculpted slouchy socks...and it's all really reminiscent of 80's style. Menswear-ish...vibrant colors and patterns...big ol slouchy socks...skinny jeans & denim minis adorned with little patches. It's a very fun set with pieces that are like, totally going to integrate into your wardrobe!

Also there's a set of RFL exclusive colors/patterns that will only be around during RFL season...so best snap those up while you can...and remember...all proceeds (100%) from sales of the RFL Exclusives go to the SL Relay For Life campaign.

Is this thing on? K...good. It's been so long since I've blogged I wasn't sure. :P

In fact, my holiday hibernation has been so long that I felt like I had forgotten how to do a number of things!!

BUT....I have a couple of new pretties tonight @ CKSD. I always seem to come back to life around Valentine's Day. Not sure what it is...it just seems like I always have this overflow of ideas for V-day themed things...and this year is no exception!! There's more in the works...but...some uber cuteness right now! ;)

I love boy-themed undies...so this tomboyish lingerie ensemble was a no-brainer. It's called 'Love Bug'...and includes two little cropped tees (one of which is raised to show your bewbies o.O)...some boy-brief style undies...and OTK socks...all adorned with little ladybug & heart graphics. It comes in 5 pastel-y colors...and I happen to think it's utter cuteness on a stick!! Here are some piccies!!

Tonight's other newness is actually kinda sorta oldness. Ever since I released the 'Pristine' lingerie set...I've been beset with requests to offer it in colors (the original came only in white)...so I decided to oblige. There's a sweet girly pink & ravishing red (in honor of the season ;P)...and also 3 other sweet & sexy new colors! I'm dropping the pics below here...this is one of my very favorite sets...so it's pretty fun to have more of it! Thanks to everyone for the requests & suggestions!

New Essentials!

Ok so I'm a lazy blogger & released some newness yesterday @ CKSD but didn't blog 'til today. ;)

After I made Essential Sweater Dress, I started thinking that I might consider other pieces that are designed in the same vein...that is...not really to be *outfits* or separates made to be the *focus* of an outfit...but more basic pieces designed to be used for layering, building, & accenting. I consider it sort of a project for me to work on over time...building an inventory of versatile little essentials in a variety of color options...something I work on as the ideas come...and hopefully something people out there find to be useful little staples of their SL wardrobes.

Soooo...what I have today is the Essential Wrap Sweater. It's just the sort of thing you love to have, especially in the spring and fall...to throw on over a shirt...to dress up your jeans a bit...to toss into your car so you can pull it out and put it on later in the evening when the air gets a bit chilly. It's sexy & smart, a piece that's equally at home with slacks, skirts, or jeans...casual or more dressy...work or play. I decided to make my version a bit cropped...with a wrap front that'll show off whatever you want to wear beneath it nicely...but that will also nicely show off your cleavage if you wanna throw it on and go out to a club. I topped it off with sculpted sleeve poofs that hit just above the cuffs...and made the sweaters themselves modifiable just in case you want to shorten the sleeve cuffs and just have the poofs with whatever you wear beneath peeking out.

It comes in 22 yummy colors (and a 23rd color *just* for CKSD group members)...and it's available in singles or color packs at the CKS Designs Main Shop in Selby as well as SL Exchange & OnRez. Falling In Love With Fleur

So...after MUCH anticipation...the release of the new Fleur Allure skins is imminent!! The launch is planned for this coming Sunday (10/19/08) at noon game time at the Fleur main shop. For now...I wanted to give you a little sneakie peekie! ;)

I've been so excited about Roslin & CJ's new skin line ever since they started it...as I have long been a devotee of Fleur skins. And I have to say...everyone is in for such a treat with the newness. These skins are a bit more photorealistic than former Fleur skins...the faces are of course gorgeous as ever...and the bodies...well...they're just incredible. Overall the skins have a very vibrant quality...distinct and striking. I'll admit I had a bit of trouble at first. As we always are...I was sort of unsure on a changeover to a skin that was fairly different to what I had been wearing...and I had to do some minor tweaking of my nose and mouth before I was really happy with how they sat on my face...but...wow were they ever worth the effort!

In the pic above...I'm wearing my favorite of the new makeups...'Fall In Love' #2, in the Cinnamon skin tone. I really wanted to show off more that just the faces on these exquisite skins...so I figured...what better excuse to prance around in lingerie and take pics of myself...RIGHT?!! :P One of the things I love is the gorgeous tummy...very defined but not overdone...and the belly button is marvy. Also the cleavage is fab...and the COLLARBONE...omg...the collarbone is to die for. Of course the face...also very very very gorgeous. ;)

Being a redhead...I'm definitely a freckle girl...and there are some gorgeous freckly skins. Here I'm wearing 'Kit' #1 in the Cinnamon skin tone. Again you can get a great view of that gorgous collarbone here...and just the overall tone of the skin is fab...it just shines marvelously in windlight.

Also...since we're checking out the bod...let's not forget the rear view! Two of my fave features are on display here...the beautifully sculpted shoulder blades...and the OMG CUTE AS HELL butt dimples! This skin is also in the Cinnamon tone...my favorite of the new tones...altho they are all just so beautifully smooth...I know I'll be wearing some of the lighter ones from time to time.

This is 'Kitten' #1 in the Cinnamon tone. I love the highlighting on the eyes and the gorgeous red lips...as well as the aforementioned glow on the body itself...just total yumness!!

And...last but certainly not least...another of my favorites among the newness...'Smudged' #3 in the Cinnamon tone. Just a reminder that with all the buzz about the new bodies...those faces are still as flawless and exquisite as they come. ;)

New tonight at CKS Designs...a dress I'm really excited about! ;)

I started out with the idea for the blouse...sleeveless with a sheer top...and a big sculpted bow on the neck. Then I wanted a sexy skirt to go with it...one with a slit over one thigh. Sooo a few days of playing around with first the blouse...then the skirt...and then I decided a garter belt w/some sexy stockings would set it off nicely. I decided to call it 'Savoy'...and made it as versatile as possible...lots of layers...a blouse that works tucked in or out...a skirt that has a waist that sits normally plus an overlay to give it an optional high waist...and the garters that are going to work under lots of your favorite skirts...or even with your favorite panties if you so desire. :P

ALSO...I have a special treat in the ads...a sneak peak of one of the new Fleur Allure skins. The face is gorgeous (of course..what else would we expect from Ros & CJ? ;) ) but...it's a shame I put on clothes...b/c the body on this skin is teh HOT. More peekies to come...release is still about 2 weeks away...so get ready. :P

...I had a customer sort of suggest that the Essential Sweater Dresses should maybe include mesh skirts (when intially released it was merely prim skirts)...which is something I never considered being as my pear-shaped ass looks *horrid* in mesh skirts...heh...but...it's a really good suggestion that I *should've* thought of.

SO...anywho today I've made some mesh skirts and updated all the packs/boxes/bags/vendors etc...andddd...gone thru records and dropped the mesh skirts on everyone who bought dresses before today...

A couple of new dresses today @ CKSD!!

'Victoria' started out with just the sweater...a cropped, crocheted piece with sculpted sleeves and a little sculpted peplum. Then I decided it would pair nicely with a basic knit dress. Soooo I added a black, above-the-knee length ribbed knit dress with a sculpted turtleneck & sleeves...the sort of thing that makes a great staple to your fall/winter wardrobe. The sweater comes in 10 bright colors...and is itself a great piece that will find multiple uses in your inventory!! Here's a couple of pics: ;)

'Caroline' is a sweet, floaty little mod confection of a cocktail dress...a halter-style babydoll with a sculpted collar and flexi skirt that comes in 4 vibrant colors, as well as white. I've been wearing it around (even half-finished :P) for a cpl days now...I'm in love with it!!

I've Been In A Football Frame Of Mind...

...and today's release at CKS Designs is reflecting that a bit. ;)

So once again a small idea blows up into a big one...and what started out as a pullover with changeable letters...ended up as an entire collection of separates. I showed my friend Dot a piccie of the pullover when I'd first started working on it...bemoaning the fact that I was having brain block when it came to thinking of a name (at that time it was still *just* the pullover :P)...and she came up with 'Old School'...which was faboo & perfecto and I begged to be allowed to use it. :P

'Old School' is a sporty collection of separates that make me think of crisp nights & cool days...pep rallies & bonfires...back to school and, of course, football. Pieces include the original pullover with changeable letter...a turtleneck with sculpted collar & sleeves that makes a great wardrobe staple for fall/winter...athletic-style shortie-shorts w/side stripe detail...a teenie cheerleader-style mini that you can wear with or w/o the included panties o.O...and some high-on-the-thigh snuggly fuzzy socks that come with and w/o the contrasting stripe detail. I've been wearing them all week...and it's making me ache to slip into cozy sweaters rw...still a tad too warm here though. :(

Sculpties?!

Bleh. So I've been dealing with an early fall cold that's kept me sidelined and/or in a semi-comatose NyQuil fog for the last few days...BUT...I managed to get out a new outfit last night that I've been working on that marks my first foray into sculptie prim use (Dun dun dun...scary!).

'Parker' is a pantset with a tank top that was giving me some issues. It's a really cute, sweet little top...with a lace front and bow accents...but I wanted a bit of a flared bottom with little ruffles. Initially I tried using the skirt layer...but was just...not happy enough with my results...then decided to bite the bullet and face my sculptiephobia...and see if I couldn't get something more to my liking with it. (Huge thanks to Phay for the sculptie advice...it was a godsend!! <3333.) Sooo after much fiddling and tinkering etc...I got a result that I'm pretty happy with!! So...the tank has a 'finished' bottom...making it wearable with or without the sculptie bottom...anddd I paired it up with some low-rise plaid pants that have optional sculpted flares. All in all...I'm tres happy with it...esp the top, which I've been running around in with my Gidget panties. :P

Stuff 'n Crap

So...about a monthish or so ago I blogged about our CKSD shop rebuild...basically saying 'hey...it's done'...and not much else. :P

Therefore...I thought it was about time I talk just a bit about the entire scope of that project...we started it in the spring...and it just seems like the summer has flown by so fast...just catching up and keeping up has been a task! ;)

So...I had taken quite a break from designing...I did a few things around V-day...paticipated in the RFL clothing fair...and beyond that had just really needed a break from all of it. Instead...I had been spending my time on DiVAS...working with CC on the new sim we got for our homes...and just...kicking back and enjoying SL some. :)

However...when the time came around and CC started working on the new shop (which is faboo...she outdid herself with the new build!)...I realized there were a few other projects I needed to tackle before turning back to creating new content...I call them my two hell-projects. :P

One was a total assessment of my CKSD inventory...re-evaluating...repricing...etc...and WHEEEEEEE I had not realized how much inventory I really had until I started in on it. I knew I had a lot of older content that was not up really to my current standard of work...and I felt it needed to be retired or repriced accordingly. The result of this is...upstairs in the new shop there's a 'Bargain' section with drastically marked-down/freebie older stuffies. Assessing...repricing...relisting on SLX/OnRez...all of that was just a huge time eater...and it took a while to push through it.

In addition/concurrently with that was the fact that we decided to re-do the old ads to be more in line with the new shop design as well as more uniform overall. Since CC was already busy to the hilt with the build itself...I tackled that job...and...once again...helllll project. Recutting all of the ads...reuploading...redoing the vendors...and then updating the pics on SLX/OnRez...again...it was all just a huge job...what a sigh of relief I breathed when that last pic went up on OnRez. :P

So...there's that...there's updating some rental spots which I hadn't touched in a while...bleh blah...and then of course today I've been working on updating the 'ol blog here...I had tons of broken links etc...removed some things...added some things...put in some dynamic link lists which I looooooooooooooove...and generally cleaned it up a bit. Now if only I could figure out how I managed to uncenter the entire thing...

Anyhow there you go...my ramble for the day...just updating y'all on my SL and STUFF.

When Good Girls Go Bad...

Yus...new pretties today at CKSD!! Well actually new pretties last night but I was too zonked to blog. :P

So I have to admit...when the idea hit me to do a more 'hardcore' version of the Gidget lingerie...the first person I thought of was Sasy. We've had many convos during the time I was making the original set (which btw...Sasy named) and since about how much we love ruffle-bum panties. :P

Making the Domina outfit was tons of fun...and so I really wanted to push on into something more of that style...and I loved the idea of a sexed-up version of a sweet lingerie set...and so it formed from there. 'Gidget X' is the result...a strappy, fetish-y, latex version of the original. The entire time I was working on it...I had no idea what I was going to call it...but used the 'working' title 'Gidget X' for the files...and after a few days it kinda grew on me. So...there she is. As in the Domina set...a nipply and non-nipply version of the top is included...and again at the great suggestion of Sasy...I included a version of the panties sans stockings...as well as tons of layers per the usual. I really loved working on this one...AND...thanks to my friend Val for showing me where to find the awesome whip. :P <333

'Carrie' is a shorts set with a vest-style top. I wanted something versatile...and so the top is 'finished' to work with or without the babydoll ruffle. The top is also a great piece to wear over tee-shirts etc. It's a nice set made of basic pieces that'll stretch nicely but don't look 'basic' at all.

'Miranda' is a sweater-knit dress with a style that's very reminiscent of the 80's to me...the colorblock stripes...and the colors themselves...and just the style of the dress overall. It's sort of hard to see in the pics but the stripe pattern narrows to a series of thinner stripes down the body of the dress. I couldn't decide if I wanted to be short...or *really* short...so I provided both options. The *really short* version can be worn sans glitch pants, if that's your thing. :P

A Little Sweet...A Little Spicy...

YAYYYy...a couple of late releases tonight @ CKSD...chock full of cute & sexy goodness!!

So...I love trying out new things...experimenting etc...and I've been wanting to delve into something like this for a little while. Hence tonight's first release, 'Domina'...a latex-y...skin-baring coat that comes with a little (very little :P) pair of booty shorts (though I find it equally at home with a pair of jeans). The coat has an open front...with cut-outs in the front and back. The version in the ad is a bit uhmm...nipply...but, at the excellent suggestion/request of the lovely Sasy...a more 'modest' coat is also included sans nipple effect. (A funny request for someone whom, on first viewing said...'dip the back more...show a little crack'...:P). I had a lot of fun working on this one...so maybe I'll delve a little more in the future...we shall see. Here's a piccie! <33

Today's other release is completely different from Domina...a cute little ballet-inspired sundress that I chose to call 'Sorbet' because that's what the colors reminded me of. The dress has a simple tank-style bodice with ribbon trim at the waist & zipper detail in the back, with a sweet little girly skirt overlayed with tulle and tried off with a big bow in the back. The dress is very short...but...if you're so inclined...it's perfectly wearable sans the included glitch pants. ;) She comes in 5 sweet & yummy colors...and here are a cpl piccies for your viewing pleasure: :P

So I decided to call this dress 'Monica' for no real reason...sometimes a name just comes and you say...ok yeah that's good! It's a sexy, shimmery halter dress with an asymmetrical skirt. Some new goodies being released today wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! I've been a busy bee trying to catch up a buncha things...but found some time to have fun in photoshop andddd...here's what we gots!

'Alyson' is a cute little summery jumper-style dress. The high-waisted jumper bit is something I've been wanting to do for a while...and it was actually the tops from the OTHER release today that finally gave me the mental picture of how I wanted the overall outfit to look. Sooo...underneath the jumper (and yesh it's a separate piece...someone asked a few mins ago!) is a little off-the-shoulder peasant-style sort of white linen top with some drawn-on ruffle/gathering trim. Optional prim sleeve poofs are also included...but imo the top is totally darling either with or without!! Anddddd for you ladies who like to flash a little panty (or lack thereof o.O) with your dresses (*cough* Sasy *cough*)...you can wear the jacket layer version of the jumper w/o having to put on the glitch pants beneath. She comes in 7 cute pastel-y colors...& I'm including a piccie of the Apple & the pack ad!

Anddddd...a top that was inspired by one I saw rw...'Breeze' is a ruffly, light off-shoulder top with sheer, animal-print babydoll & sleeve ruffles. Sooooo I have a couple of collections and some hot kinis to offer up today!!

First up the kinis!
The Safari Bikini is made to complement the Summer Safari collection. It's a sexy-but-not-too-skimpy little linen bikini that comes with a matching sarong. I wanted to do a basic sort of tie-side bottom/triangle top...but I think the textures really make this one pop. I love sailor/nautical-style clothing...and I've wanted to do a swimsuit in that style for a while...hence the Sailor Bikini. After playing around with a hibiscus print...I thought a sort of retro-surfer style would be nice...and I loved the print so much I ended up building an entire collection around it! Last up is the Life Guard Bikini. This one's the skimpiest of the lot...it's designed for the girl who wants to show off that toned, tanned bod on the beach. Available in 4 colors, $L115 single/$L250 pack...all colors are shown below!

So...the Summer Safari collection is something I've been actually batting around for months...first in my head...and then finally I got around to putting it 'on paper' or...putting it to pixels...or...whatever...and then I decided I wanted a bikini to go with. :P

It features 6 pieces (Jacket, Shorts, Pants, Skirt, Halter, & Sheath Dress) in 5 colors. The pieces make for great mixing and matching...nice, summery wardrobe basics that should stretch your inventory nicely. Also...since the fabrics are matched to those in the Safari Bikini...those pieces will also coordinate nicely!! The other day I got chided (by Phay :P) b/c I hadn't blogged since March 30...and at some point this morning while I was out and about I remembered my chiding and thought...'damn she's right...I think I'll blog when I get home!'.

So here I am with my venti Doubleshot on Ice (b/c evidently, according to Starbucks, people only want honey in the winter but *nothing* screams summer like 4 shots of espresso in a 24-oz cup) wondering...well...lessee...hmmm...what exactly do I have to say? And the answer is...sorta nothing...sorta a lot...blah blah blah.

I had started on posts about American Idol, but frankly the entire season was too 'eh' for me to care that much. Sure there were some great funny moments etc along the way...but all in all it was just like...well...'eh'. Hard to care that much. I'd much rather blog about 'Lost'...but if I did that y'all would be begging me to stfu after one post. Let's say I'm slightly obsessed. :P Besides...it's a *Second* Life blog...so...maybe I should get to what's been going on/what's coming up in my SL.

I've sorta had a break from designing/CKS work...mostly because other things have been filling up my time...and also b/c sometimes well...I just don't wanna design I guess. However, in the past month CC has been working on a shop rebuild...and I have been working on pricing/ad redesign for us. Andddd we've both been working on new pretties this week...and plan to continue doing so. So look for an announcement soon on that...once we decide when we wanna go in and put the new shop and goodies up!! It's always fun to get back into it after a break...and I'm really excited about the new build and the new ideas we've both been working on...can't wait to have it all pulled together & show it off!!

Also we have the big season finale of DiVAs coming up. If you've been following along on the DiVAs Blog then you've seen Phay's marvelous trailer for the finale. Having seen a preliminary final edit...I can honestly say that viewers are in for a real treat. I don't want to give *anything* away...but definitely expect the unexpected. I've watched Phay & Evie grow so much over the course of these 6 episodes in their technical skills...and I really think everyone is going to be awed with what they've done with this one. I'm so proud of both of them...and so honored to be a part of this incredible, amazing creative journey. We're going to be having an in-world screening of the finale...so stay tuned for info on that!

Also on a machinima note...my friend Tuber Potato, who directed a machinima version of the Ray Bradbury short story 'The Veldt' last summer, (it can be viewed here), will be directing another machinima based on a famous short story in the next couple of months. I won't say more as again I don't want to give anything away...but it's another project I'm very excited about participating in.

What else...welll...ok so anyone who knows me knows that I love (ie..am obsessed with) football. (yeah, American football...stop groaning you Euros...you know who you are) My friend Dot, who also loves football, suggested we start a football blog this fall...and I am so psyched about the idea!! I suggested we also have an SL fantasy football league. Anyone out there who has some interest in that (if you've read this far :P) drop me an email/notecard/something. Serious fans only please...those who know how to trash talk etc. :P

Also there's the little matter of the sim that CC & I have spent the past 3 months on. Terraforming. Reterraforming. Putting up houses. Putting up new houses. Reterraforming. Etc. (It's personal space, not shop space.) I've learned that I love terraforming (who knew?!) and I hate building (more like trying to build) waterfalls. :/

ANDDDDD then there's this Jim Honey dude. Good-looking, rebellious type. Prone to mischief. Maker of extraordinary animations. I really love spending time with him. Lots of time. <33 :)

Top 12!!

Sooo the AI top 12 is upon us!!...and last night they were tasked with performing a Beatles song of their own choosing. Results were mixed...and if you wanna hear my opinions on em...and add some of your own....have a clickie below then! ;)

So hmm I think today...I'm going to go in order from my favorite performance to my least favorite...all songs courtesy of Lennon & McCartney...audio clips provided for your listening pleasure! ;)

1) Chikezie - She's a Woman

All I can say is WOW!! After the Whitney fiasco last week...and seeing as how I've not liked him much at all during the preliminaries...I was all for cutting him loose before the top 12. But this was just....WOW!! I'm glad he at least got the chance to show he could do this...but I wonder now which Chikezie we'll see from here on out...

2) David Cook - Eleanor Rigby

Like last week...what an incredibly modern arrangement of an older (in this case MUCH better than last week's :P) song. I listen to this and think...it could be a single I'd hear on the radio today. He reminds me a lot of Chris Daughtry...but let's hope he can overcome the comparison!

3) Carly Smithson - Come Together

Funny...before Simon said it...I was thinking...a lot like Kelly Clarkson. Everything about this performance was fabulous imo...incredible vocals...great stage presence...great arrangement...it all came together beautifully!

4) Brooke White - Let It Be

She doesn't have a big 'diva' voice...but she does have such a connection with the song and with the music when she sings. I love that she uses instruments...it's a very natural thing with her...and I love the quiet intensity she has in her voice. She'd never be powerhouse like Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood...but she has a really great quality...as the judges have noted...more like a Carly Simon. I <333 her!!!

5) Jason Castro - If I Fell

I think...much like Brooke...Jason is just an incredibly emotional singer who really connects with the song. It's not a 'big voice' sort of thing...it's very quiet and intimate and real...yet not plain or boring. I hope he's around for a long time!

6) Amanda Overmeyer - You Can't Do That

Amanda has been my personal favorite among the women from the start. I just love her voice...her personality...everything about her. I loved that she changed up the song to suit her style...and loved the delivery and performance. It was somewhat on and off pitchwise in parts but...I'm rooting for her to push through to the final two!

7)Michael Johns - Across The Universe

Wellll. He's been one of my faves from the start...really my personal fave among the males. His performance on this was...good...but really it relied so much on his amazing stage presence...and that imo made it seem so much better than it really was. I think on someone with less personality...it would've come off as very, very boring.

8) Ramiele Malubay - In My Life

Well...as far as pitch she's dead on...sings well...it's just...b o r i n g. *yawn*
She should stay...at least for now...but if she doesn't bring more I don't think she's gonna last long.

9) David Archuleta - We Can Work It Out

Ok welll...yesh he totally butchered the lyrics...repeatedly. But he's still not my personal worst...because I still liked his voice...because I've seen more from him in the past...because I think he has more to offer than those I ranked beneath him. Here's to hoping he gets another chance!!

10) Syesha Mercado - Got To Get You Into My Life

Reaalllllyyyy off pitch at the start...like...bad....but once she got into it the singing was ok. Overall tho just kinda...eh...nothing to write home about at all.

11) David Hernandez - I Saw Her Standing There

Well...we knew that some of the greatest songs of all time were bound to be butchered tonight...and this was just...ugh. Like a bad cruise shop performance by a former (very former) boy band member or something. Just ugh.

12) Kristy Lee Cook - Eight Days A Week

Yup. This is the ONLY thing that kept the David Hernandez debacle from being the bottom of the barrel. I dunno even WTF that was. It's like...she should be shot. Twice. Once for butchering a great song...then again for insulting the entire country music genre. But hey...if you always wanted to hear a 'hoedown' version of a Beatles song...sung by a singer who seems a half beat ahead of her band thru the entire thing...then...I guess you voted for Kristy!!

Okies that's it for me....I mean obviously I think Kristy should be the one to go. She should be launched off the stage from a cannon for that horrific performance, in fact, imo. :/

Ok yeah I know I said last season that keeping Paula was imperative cos she's way too entertaining to let go...but....

....yeah maybe it's time cos is it just me or is she really starting to become annoying?...

I mean the other night poor Jason stood there uncomfortably and nodded his head while she gave this lovely tidbit of advice to him:

"Although it's a level of difficulty you made it sound so effortless with ease and I am so glad you showed a beautiful vulnerability and you are great in front of the guitar and leaving it down that...I...you know...there's something...first of all...let's get back...all the guys you're great so far...great job...amazing...and Jason you are exactly what I'm loving about this season is you are unique and you are definitely recognizable in your technique...and I think that your phrasing...your phrasing is what makes you great."

(Yes...I made sure I got that verbatim before I erased it from my Tivo. If you don't watch the show...imagine that in a slightly slurred kinda drugged-up voice.)

And...pretty much...that's a fine example of what she says to everyone. In between jumping up and dancing around sort of drunkenly and being pulled back into her seat by Simon. Yeah. It may be time for Paula to go.

Of course as everyone knows football season (yes, American football) IS the most wonderful time of the year...and as many know I'm recently enamoured of 'Lost' & very excited about the new season so far...but of course as lots know American Idol season is pretty far up there with me too. :P

I've had a few ppl now ask if I'm gonna blog about AI this season...and well...mostly I've been lazy about blogging in general...a habit I need to get out of yeah yeah...but...I suppose it's as good a reason as any to jump back in there and start yakking some more. Sooooo...AI fans...I know you're out there...speak up & lemme hear your thoughts too!!

So...who should (and/or shouldn't) be in the Top 12?! Thoughts and stuff after the cut...:P

Ok so I'm not one of those viewers who really enjoys the audition/beginning stages of the show most. They're ok...fun at first...but they wear thin on me and really what I look forward to is the part starting next week...once the top 12 has been decided.

Sooo...on the day that top 12 will finally be announced...who's worthy...and who's not?!

Well first up I think I can pretty well say that the 8 who've been cut so far...didn't matter anyhow. I can't even remember their names really...maybe a couple...pretty much forgettable overall though...and there are still a few left who are just as forgettable, imo.

Ladies first...as they say:

Well...my uberearly preference for the final 2 was Amanda Overmeyer (the rocker nurse chick) and Michael Johns (the Aussie guy).

Amanda is still my fave among the women...but...I think Brooke White (the nanny) and Carly Smithson (the Irish girl who can pour a perfect pint) have also been fantastic.

As for the other 5...mostly they've had their ups and downs...and mostly I think I'm not going to really care which two leave. Although there are considerations:

1) Two of them sang Whitney Houston songs last night...and frankly I think just about anyone who does a Whitney Houston song should be subjected to one of those giant comedy hooks they used in vaudeville(?) days to haul people offstage. Yes, there have been (rare) exceptions when they've been sung well...but mostly those have come during or close to the finals...and only by the very best of the best singers. Just seriously people...stop singing Whitney. Just trust me before you go out there and make a fool of yourself. You're not that good. Just. Trust. Me.

2) That Queen song. WTF? Why did the judges act like that was ok? Did she even hit any of the notes on pitch? Did someone replace my ears with non-working replicas? Cos I sure missed the part where that was anywhere even close to good.

Sooo...if I had my choice...it'd be the girl who did the Queen song and one of the Whitney twins (don't really care which...just send one home as a warning to those left...sorta like the horse's head in the Godfather...) who goes home tonight...just on principle yanno?

Anddd then there are the men:

Overall I think they're stronger than the women...it's sort of a shame...I think they should just pick the *best* 12...not divide it up into 6/6.

As I said before....Michael Johns is still my fave among the men...even though I have to admit he's not been my fave either of the past two weeks. I was a bit confused by Randy's rxn to his performance last night. He sang a song originally performed by the band Simple Minds...yet Randy reacted as though he had just done an INXS song...said he had 'come home' and gushed about how he reminded him of Michael Hutchence. Ok to my knowledge INXS never covered that song and...well the original band is Scottish...and to my knowledge Michael Hutchence was never in it. Sooo...*confused look*.

David Cook (the 'rocker' dude who likes crosswords) and Jason Castro (the dreadlock guy) were both just outstanding last night...in entirely different ways. How David managed to take one of the most cheesy songs ever and turn it into something fresh and alternative is beyond me...but he did it. And Jason just turned in such a beautiful rendition of a beautiful song. He's still a bit weird to me though...it's like...he has a sort of...vacancy...about him that disturbs me anytime he's speaking and not singing.

David Archuleta (the 17 y/o one who always looks like he's about to cry...) is also very very good. I mean...I was with everyone else when he did 'Imagine' last week...it was an incredible performance. There's something about him though...that I just can't get behind as far as winning the competition. I think it's probably his age...as good as he is I think he will have a struggle connecting and forming an identity at some point.

David Hernandez is growing on me...I think he's probably good enough that he should stay...but really singing a Celine Dion song is just ugh. Please no more. It's right up there with singing Whitney really. Also there's the problem of having...no real way to describe him. He just...doesn't really stand out...good singer...but...sorta bland.

Sooo...that leaves three...Luke (the one who sang the Wham! song), Danny (probably the most flamboyant male teenager I've ever seen), and Chikezie (called 'jacuzzi' by Simon in one of the biggest LOL moments I've seen thus far). Honestly I don't like any of them. Danny imo is like Sanjaya II just not quite as annoying...but at least he has a personality...the other two just...don't really. None of them sang well. But...I guess if I had my druthers it'd be Luke (because JTFC who sings 'Wake Me Up Before You Go Go' and expects to be taken seriously...hello even George Michael realized he couldn't be taken seriously singing that) and Chikezie (HELLO STOP SINGING WHITNEY, PEOPLE. THAT GOES *QUADRUPLE* IF YOU'RE MALE!!!!!) who'll be leaving tonight.

In upcoming episodes of DiVAS, there's going to be a big need for extras...so an in world group has been founded for those who'd like to come join us in the fun!!

The DiVAS ExTRAS group will be available to all residents interested in particpating in the show. Casting calls will be announced at the producers discretion, any time of the day or night, weekend or weekday so all time zones are encouraged to join. DiVAS celebrates many things, especially social diverity. It is the colorful people who populate our world that make it entertaining! And we need people from all walks of Second Life; Men, women, humans, elves, furries, tinies, young, old, vampires, every shape and size you can imagine.

**Note** This is a non-paid position. Participation is completely voluntary. DiVAS is a non-commercial entity.

We politely request you have a current photo on your profile! We need to know what you look like! We also request that you do not Instant Message the cast or crew for information on call times. We rarely are capable of providing advance notice, so our announcements for casting will be random. We can only consider group members who are online at the time of the call.

* Participant understands and agrees that while they maintain ownership of their intellectual properties entirely, voluntary participation in DiVAS immediately grants the entity permission to use sequences in which they appear at any point in the future without advance notice or compensation to the individual, and that all filmed material in which the Avatar may or may not appear, regardless of content, remains property of the production entity indefinitely and the production entity harbors no responsibility to the individual involved.

* Participant understands upon entering into this agreement with the DiVAS production that they release the series, it’s creators, cast and production crew of all liability, claims or actions against them as a result of their participation.

* Producers reserve the right to remove any individual from an active shoot or the group at any time. Harrassment, intolerance or abuse of any sort is not tolerated. Any individual detracting from the collective effort with disruptive behavior or actions that otherwise delays or inhibits the goal of completion of a filmed sequence will be removed without exception.

* While a participant may leave the group at any time or chose not to participate, after their inclusion in a filmed sequence they may NOT request footage be ammended to exclude their virtual avatar once footage has been arranged or completed should it negate the efforts of other participants or effect the quality, continuity, or completion of the filmed product. All filmed material is owned by the DiVAS production entity.

* Participant understands and agrees that no compensation is offered in ANY currency, virtual or otherwise, in return for their involvment, nor are any materials, favors, or exchanges made between DiVAS and the participants now or in the future.
* Participant agrees to sign a release form stating their awareness of intention to publically display filmed material, as well as the terms set forth in above paragraphs. In this, they license DiVas productions the right to use on the filmed image of their self-operated Virtual Avatar in the production of DiVAS solely for the purpose of this production without compensation and that their image will never be used for anything outside the DiVAS production.

- A more detailed agreement is provided upon invitation to participate which requires the participant to copy/paste to a new notecard, with the virtual signature of their represented Avatar and returned to a production authority for filing. The notecard must have the virtual timestamp embedded and show the participant as the creator to be considered a binding acceptance of terms.

I'm slipping in tonight with a handful of pix...don't tell! ;P

Roslin Petion & CJ Carnot of Tete a Pied have been hard at work with a new Boutique series of skins...the first of which will be released sometime this weekend. The Boutique skins will be a series of small specialty lines, different from the normal Vivant line. The first in the series is the Parfait line, which features a 100% hand-drawn face & comes in 7 luscious makeup options in 3 yummy skin tones. This will be a great new skin option for those who like the stylized look of hand-drawn clothing and skins...but still want to have the unparalleled Tete makeup range available to them!! (And...if you've never tried hand-drawn skin...might I suggest this is a good time to check it out! :P)

I've been so excited since Roslin let me have a peek at them...and I'm dying to show them off...so between that and my recent Japanese designer craze...I did up a few piccies to blog! :D

The pic at top is the Strawberry Parfait 1. I'm digging the gently shaded eyes and the oh-so-sweet pink lips. (This skin has an amazingly gorgeous new lip btw...incredible cuteness that you just wanna eat right up!!)

Now...if you wanna see more sweet skin goodness....and you KNOW you do...you're gonna hafta take a peekie after the cut! Just click on the pics for a closer view! ;)

Next up is the Strawberry Parfait 6. This is prolly my fave of the bunch...as I am a complete nut for heavier, striking shadow and nude lips. I may not take this one off for a week. :P

Although...a VERY close 2nd is this one...Parfait 2, shown here in Vanilla. I have a feeling this is about to become my widely used 'everyday' skin...such gorgeous freckly cuteness I just wanted to DIE when I put it on!!

Shown here is Strawberry Parfait 3...cute rosy cheeks and a very natural look...sooo sweet! (Also my new FAVE hair btw...Pompadour from Zero Style.)

Parfait 4 is all sultry, smoky goodness with a gorgeous wine-colored lip...shown here in the Strawberry skin tone. (I featured Strawberry most as it's my personal fave.)

And last but by no means least...the Parfait 5...shown here in Toffee...all full of yummy doe eyes and once again...THE most gorgeous, sumptous, wanna-eat-em-up luscious red lips in SL.

...so my clever friend Furi informs me that if you attach a bunch of cards the thingie will stamp 'em all at once...so YAY!! And as you can see from the pic above you don't even look like a freak or anything!! Stamp Rally Madness!!!!

Wheeeeeee!!!!!! I hope everyone's having a wonderful holiday season so far!! It's that time of year when rw is all crazy, and I've not been able to focus much on work...but I've been around a little to do some fun things in world! One of the most fun things I've done this past week is participate in the Creators Stamp Rally...and I enjoyed it so much I wanted to blog a little about it!!

The Creators Stamp Rally, or CSR, is sponsored by a conglomeration of 20 in world shops who are selling designated products that have a CSR2007 Winter Stamp Card inside the package. Each shop also has a stamping machine where you 'stamp' the cards you collect. Once your card has all 20 stamps on it, you can take it to the CSR Event Hall and redeem it for a gift of your choice (each of the 20 participating shops has donated a gift item)!! You can collect a gift for each card you fill out...and the cards are transferrable so you can share with your friends if you like! Or you can do what I did and drag your friends out stamping with you! :)

I had tons of fun running around checking out a lot of shops I'd never or rarely been to...found tons of great merchandise...and, best of all, found that the gifts themselves are very, VERY nice!! There's everything from clothes to skins to furniture to jewelry to guns and on and on and on!!

Ok so there's this place I'd had a lil shop rental for a lonnnggggg time...like a year and a half...and just before Thanksgiving they were nice enough to finally get me a lil spot inside the club all my own...deeded the land to me etc...YAYYYYY ME....

....and so what did I do? Well I'll tell you. In a smooth move worthy of the Baltimore Ravens (for those of you who saw last night's game), I went in this morning and for some fool reason turned on autoreturn on my lil piece of land...YAYYYY ME!!!

...and promptly returned half my little shop along with various and sundry other pieces of the club (like the floor just outside my shop)....YAYYYYY ME!!!!!!!

As if that's not bad enough a lot of the pieces still belonged to the original builder of the club SO they didn't even go into the L&F folder of the owner. YAYYYY ME!!!!!!!!

Soooo now I've spent the first part of my afternoon apologizing profusely and attempting to put up something half-ass...er...half-decent that will work until the owner can get the builder back in to fix it. YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY ME!!!!

CSI: SL?

So a couple of thoughts on tonight's CSI:NY Episode which featured SL...nothing even approaching spoilers here so left coasters need not worry.

I've been watching CSI for years now...from the start of the original (Vegas-set) show. ..and of course I'm clearly addicted to SL so I was intrigued to see how it would play out.

While I applaud CBS' efforts at really making a splash and working at establishing a presence in SL that will probably appeal to the fans of their shows...especially in light of the nonsplash so many rw brands have made coming into SL, I gotta say...as a CSI episode, I felt it was pretty weak...as it was obviously a lot more geared as a 'vehicle' to introduce SL with a pretty light plotline. In fact...Law & Order: SVU totally PWNED them by already airing an episode this season with a much richer and more intriguing storyline that involved a fictional virtual world that closely mirrored SL.

Also...there was an instance in the show which the subscriber info provided to the NYPD by LL proved bogus. It's too bad they didn't explore that as a REAL issue that could be exacerbated by LL's 'open registration' policy. For a series that's made its reputation on edgy & topical content, I was disappointed that one was allowed to slip by.

Oh...and yah I WANT Mac's SWEET humongoscreen/mini kb set up!!!!

Presenting the Poe Collection:

Yah I managed to do it again somehow...start out with one item and end up with a whole buncha stuff! o.O

I've been wanting to do some Fair Isle type sweaters for a while...and so the entire project started out innocently enough with that and an idea based on a sweater I got from Old Navy recently. I decided to try a cropped sweater vest with a Fair Isle-ish pattern and a loose white shirt underneath. I decided to call it 'Lenore' cos some friends & I had been talking about schools & it was the name of my middle school. After doing it...I just wanted to do MORE patterns...so I decided to do more sweaters...and I decided then to name them after female Poe characters as a fitting match with 'Lenore' and the season. Sooo of course I needed some SOCKS to go with my sweaters...and since jeans were one of those pieces I'd never tried, I topped it off with some jeans and jean skirts and, well...a few weeks later...voila...tons o stuffs...tons o layers...tons o mix & match fun! *sigh*

SO anyhow...I did put them out today in the main shop...and wanted to take a few to blog about 'em tonight!!

/me takes a breath

There are three different sweaters, each with an associated legwear pack. The legwear packs come with knee highs, stockings, & two pairs of tights (one solid, one patterned to match the pattern of the sweater)...all designed to be as layerable as possible.

SO first the sweater that started it all..Lenore. As I said it's a cropped sweater vest with a Fair Isle style print with hearts & snowflakes and a loose white shirt beneath. It (along with all the sweaters & legwear) comes in 12 colors, which are available individually or in packs of 6 (bright or muted colors). Layers with the sweater vest alone are also included in the Lenore packs. Here's a cpl piccies! Props to Roslin Petion of Tete a Pied for this wonderful rosy-cheeked Automne skin which was just the perfect accessory for this collection!! :)

The Madeline sweater is the classic ski-type sweater...solid-colored with snowflake trim round the shoulders. I added some trim around the wrists and waistband...and made sure to toss in plenty of layers so you can wear it tucked...untucked...however you please!!

Last of the sweaters is Annabel, a cropped cardigan with longer sleeves and a matching tank top. The print on Annabel is all butterflies and ribbons and fuzzy sweater goodness! The tank also works nicely beneath the Lenore sweater vest. :D

Annnd last up the Ligeia Jeans...in 10 colors...available individually or in packs of 5 (light and dark washes). The jeans come on both pant layers and with optional prim flares. The Jean Skirts come with both a straight and tiered ruffle prim...or can be worn alone as shorts!

SO...whew long post almost over! ;)

A Lil Bit O Newness!

Wheeee a little new stuffs today...kinda a mixed bag!!

Sooo I've had the intention of doing a houndstooth coat for a lil while now...but once I got it started I really liked more the idea of it as a wintery little business-y/sex-y/min-y/somewhat retro-y ish kinda dress...and it turned into just that...with some black wool tights to finish it off!! I decided to call it 'Emily' for absoutely no reason whatsoever!!! I'm loving the clean lines and simple style...and the sort of 'buttoned-up' sexiness it has. ;) Anyyywayyy...here's a pic and such!

I've been asked numerous times to delve into men's clothing...but the main problem I have with that is just...coming up with ideas. So I dipped my toe in with this little offering...hopefully I can come up with some fun new things in the future...but it's a start! I decided to call it 'Argyle' cos well...that's what it is. :P Coming up with names for men's clothing is also a new experience!! It's a sweater/shirt combo that comes in 5 colors...I provided it on multiple layers so it's quite versatile...and of course it looks perfectly cute on women as well! ;) I've included a pic of the Olive and the Pack to give an idea of available colors! Big thanks to CJ Carnot of Tete a Pied for letting me use a preview copy of the upcoming Tete a Pied Vivant male skins...and to Haver Cole of Lemon for keeping me in great shape with this 'Lonestar' male shape from her recent Track 8 series!! It's kinda weird doing ads as a man! :P

Finally...shortly after I released the 'Gidget' ruffly bum lingerie I had a request to do some in black & white...and now that I've wrestled Amarantine into submission I've finally got em done!! These are straight up single color sets...cute and fun and just sheer enough to make eyebrows raise! ;)

So I took some time yesterday to do a little long-neglected shopping and it's been soooo long since I posted up anything besides my own stuffs...that I just wanted to take a minute to share some of my favoritist things this week!! :D

Seriously...I just about flipped when I saw this one. Everyone knows what a fan I am of retro clothing...and this is just perfection. Absolute. Total. Perfection. Here I paired it with one of my own Amarantine skirts. (I cheated and made a lil pair of default texture undies to hide the teenie gap between the shirt bottom and skirt waistband...shhh)

Hlep!!! Does Fia have a blog?!! My friend Sasy gave me this set as a gift because she felt it matched the Amaratine pieces so well...and I have to say I was totally blown away when I tried it on. Not only does it perfectly capture that sort of 'Ali McGraw in Love Story' retro feel that I think Amarantine has...but seen up close...the detail and intricacy is just absolutely stunning!!

...wellll...of the issues that were reported...

The Fat Packs (or Obese Packs as Gillian called them...still laughing over that one! haha) were due to me not loading the vendor (UH DUH?!!) so that's fixed!!

The packs...I did check the vendors and the stuff's there & checked to be sure others got their stuff etc...SO...all I can say is we have a case of SL doing what SL does BEST...effing things up. :/

So if you get a pack o' something and something's not there just be sure to drop me an im or notecard and I'll check it out and get it sorted for ya!!

Holy Issues Batman!

Hey everyone!!

Thanks so much out there for the positive response to the Amarantine Collection...all the nice words I've gotten make me smiley...I'm always happy when ppl like something I've made!!

There have been a few issues...a cpl ppl have said the Fat Pack vendor won't work. I've gotten reports also that the Equinox Pack was missing the Scoopneck Sweaters and the Indian Summer pack rezzed an empty folder for the Turtlenecks.

I'm headed in world now to check/fix/rectify these issues...but please don't hesitate to drop me an im or notecard if you bought something and had other issues!!

Besides having trouble with my brain sorting and packaging the massive load of STUFF...when I was packaging yesterday SL was being incredibly weird (I know..shocking) so I'm not really SURPRISED if there are a couple snags...but Imma get em ironed out quickly!! ;)

Fall Has...Fallen?

Some new pretties out tonight...a new fall separate collection that started out so innocently as a coat...then turned into an outfit...then sort of grew into this huge thing that I've been obsessed with for the past week. ;)

Called 'Amarantine' (a name suggested by my friend & fellow designer Phay)...the collection includes coats, sweaters in both a scoop-neck & turleneck style, pants, skirts, & tights. The turtleneck sweaters include some pretty little ribbons tied round the waist with little flexiprim bows to finish them off.

I had so much fun working with some rich fall colors & textures...jewel tones...plaids...wools...fuzzy knits and girlie satin...and I really tried to make this a great set of separates that's as mixable, matchable, stretchable, and versatile as possible. There are TONS of layers included with each piece...so the shirts can be untucked or tucked in...can be layered with one another as well as the coats...the waist ribbons are layered with the turtlenecks but also come on a separate layer so you can wear them with other things. (The turtlenecks also include a layer with no ribbon.) Hopefully y'all enjoy wearing them & finding new combos as much as I've enjoyed putting them together!! <333

They're available right now at my main shop, CKS Designs in Selby. I'll get them up on SLX & OnRez at some point this week. ;)

Prices vary depending on what you want. There's a hugeass you-can't-miss-it display in the big building at the shop, right next to the new release rack that lets you buy single pieces according to color and type (the 'singles' are actually color pairs...everything comes in a set of two coordinating colors). The display also has discounted packs of all pieces of one type(ie an all colors coat pack) and all pieces in one color scheme (there are 5 color schemes)...and of course the big fat pack that has all pieces in all colors and will have you unpacking and sorting layers until spring. :P

So that's about it for me for now. It's about time to go watch/drool over Tom Brady.

Sex Kittens, Beatniks, & Smart Skirts...Oh My!

I gots a buncha new pretties today YEYYYYYY...so it's gonna be a looongish post for those who hang in there for my ramblings...but I'll start with a quick peekie pic and some infooo on Smart Skirts.

I was in a retro frame of mind (shock!) and so what I have here is a lil collection of 60's-inspired goodies. Also after reading Raven's post I decided to check out the Smart Skirt script...and decided I liked it!! Therefore all new prim skirts I design (including this week's dresses) will have Smart Skirts included in the package. What's a Smart Skirt do, Kit, you ask? Well...it's a prim skirt that can be set to 'move' better with your avi...so no more 'dangling prim syndrome' when you sit...the skirt 'sits' with you...and can also be set to hang better when you're standing, walking etc. I'm also including regular old sk00l skirts for those who prefer. The script is very easy to use and the skirt comes set...however if you need to size the skirt or maybe if you just want to change the settings to mesh better with your own personal anims...then it will need resetting. Complete instructions are included in the pack for doing this...and as I said, it's very easy to use. ;)

So now...on to the newness!!

First up is this yummy little babydoll...satin layered under sheer chiffon...showing just enough skin to be sexy...tied with a big, ubercute satin bow in the back...it's feminine & fun & pure sex kitten! I decided to call it 'Posh'...just...well...because it is! :D It comes in 6 sweet colors...and pics are included below of the Pink Champagne as well as the pack for an idea of the color range!

This next one presented quite a challenge as far as finding a name. I wanted a simple, black beatnikish outfit with some colorful trench coats. The outfit itself I love...wracking my brain to come up with a name, not so much! After much wracking by not just me but poor Sasy Scarborough who tried to help...I decided to simply call it 'Beat'. Lame, maybe but...it's simple...and it works. I started out with a short turtleneck...then decided to add a 'tucked' one cos well...not everyone likes to show off their tummy :P and also b/c it makes a great basic piece to wear with just about anything..and I wanted to be sure to give options for wearing it. I included glitch pieces so you'll be able to wear it 'tucked' into pretty much any pants/skirts you own if you so desire. ANYWAY, here's a cpl piccies...one with the black coat...and one to show the range of coat colors available!! Serious props to Roslin Petion of Tete a Pied for this amazing skin, 'Chaton', just released this weekend!!

Next up...my faveeeee of the bunch (though it's a bit like choosing a favorite child...they all have their things you love about them!)...the ruffffffffly bum panties!! Huge thanks to Sasy Scarborough who not only came up with the perfect name, but also suggested I add a set of solid colored ruffles to each pack (orignally I just had the multicolored ones)!! Anywho...I've been wanting to make some panties with prim ruffles on the bootay for some time...and I finally tackled it. The result is 'Gidget'...a sweet, sex kitten lingerie set that's ruffly, girlie, and just barely sheer enough to make you wonder if it's sheer at all....;) Of course both pieces can also be worn sans ruffles...but damn...who'd wanna do that?!! o.O ANYWHO...some piccies follow...one of the red...and another to show the available colors!!

ANDDDDd....last up (but by no means least!!)...a gorgeous set that happened as a result of a conversation I had with Phaylen Fairchild of Diva Designs about our desire to collaborate on something. Called 'Jackie'...it's a knee-length linen sheath dress with a coat. Phay did a marvelous job on the coat...it hangs beautifully...no small feat considering she had to fit it over a dress with a prim skirt!! It's got fabulous detail and includes prim cuffs & collar. I'm really extremely happy with this one and am looking forward to the next idea we work on!! Sooo...here's a piccie!!

So one consequence of my little 2-monthish break is that I've gotten so dreadfully behind on blog-reading and pretty much what's been going on in the blogworld period!!

I've been working like crazy trying to get caught up on as much of what I missed as possible...and also in updating my own blog in terms of links etc. So many new blogs have cropped up and it seems like every day I find another that I want to link...SO hopefully someday I'll manage to ferret them all out and get them linked up. o.O

But I digress...because what I really wanted to talk about here was the incredible awkwardness of sending a message to someone you've never met (or in many cases simply haven't talked to much at all). Now...maybe it's just me...I'm not sure if like...other people feel that way or not...but it's kinda like...'Hi you don't know me and I don't know you and maybe stuff I make is completely not your taste and all but HERE I'm gonna give you this stuff to bloat your inventory even though I'm sure you get constant inventory bloatage anyhow!!'.

Soooo...first I wanna say thanks to all of you for dealing with that...and secondly that if you're a blogger and I've never dropped any samples on you it's probably because:

1. Sometimes I'm lazy.
2. I'm shy. (Yes I can hear the laughter now from people who know me that are reading this but it's actually true...I AM shy...especially when it comes to my work.)
3. I basically run around clueless much of the time in SL.
4. The aforementioned awkwardness.
5. I don't want to bloat your inventory further with things you may not like.
6. I hate to think anyone feels I have some 'expectation' of a review if they don't like something. (I don't!)
7. I've never managed to see your blog, somehow. o.O
8. Did I mention I'm lazy, shy, awkward, & clueless?!!

...I actually made something!!

JTFC I've forgotten how to post in SLX/SLB (which has mysteriously become OnRez during my absence) & the forum and stuff. Still think I know how to blog though. :D

So a new dressie to kick things off...maybe the only release *this* week though I have more in the works...because I still have so many other things to catch up on. But the bug was biting at me and so here's what we got! ;)

It's a simple, elegant little semi-formalish dress that I decided to call 'Grace' after a friend who saw me in it with my little bitch stick ciggie holder & blonde hair said 'you look like Zsa Zsa'...and I replied...'WTF Zsa Zsa no...more like Grace Kelly!'. It's a simple, summery linen texture with a pretty lace bodice & sash (with a little flexiprim bow in the back) & a lace-trimmed knee-length flexiprim skirt.

/me pauses to wonder why I still use 'flexiprim' to describe things when pretty much ALL skirts now are flexiprim (unless they're sculptie...)

/me also pauses now to ponder in wonder at the probably millions now of SL residents who have no recollection of life before flexiprims...

Okies...more sneaker peeker skins from Roslin Petion of Tete a Pied and once again I just *have* to share some cos I'm going gaga over these makeups!!

Also I have to send some props out to Elika...for this FAB new 'Dirty' texture that she put out in her preview packs that went out to the ETD group. It's the most amazing blonde I've ever seen in SL...I love it so much it's prompted me to go blonde for a while! o.O

AND props to Saeya Nyanda of Kyoot for the sweet background...which, like the bg I used in the previous skin post, is a part of her newish (I'm a slow blogger lately lol...kinda new to ME) Frames pack for the Photosphere. They're all just fabbbbolisciousness and with all you can already do with the Photosphere they're sooo versatile.

Sooo anywho I said in my previous post that the new Tete line includes some really great new makeup styles...and if you're a makeup girl like me you're gonna be gaga over it!! ;)

This is the Basic Nude 3 in the Buff skin tone. I'm such a fan of the heavy eye and the shiny, nude lips. The new lip on these skins is just fantastic.

Okies this one is my ABSOLUTE fave...the Biba series. This is Biba 2 in the Buff skin tone. I totally dig the uber heavy eye and those marvelous, sultry red lips. I love how Ros managed to pull off something that's edgy and so classy at the same time...I feel like Marlene Dietrich when I wear it!! ...and you should see the one with the nude lips...just WOW.

This is the Glam 1 in the Buff skin tone...a glittery, glossy confection that's so elegant and refined.

This is Rebelle 2 in the Buff skin tone. I love the balance here...the uber heavy liner and the gorgeously blended, lighter shadow.

Anddd this is the Sultry 3 in the Buff skin tone. Fabulous eyes that are smoky without being too heavy (yesh I realize not everyone likes heavy black liner/shadow like I do :P) and great understated yet strong lips.

I've said this in the past...but the thing I really really REALLY love about Tete skins...beyond the quality...is the totally different look I can get from one to the next...the fact that when Roslin does the makeups she puts effort into designing new styles and combinations. I've noted a cpl other skinners making an effort at this recently as well...but undoubtedly Tete was the first to do so and remains the standard, imho, for imaginative, innovative, stylish faces.

Soooo Ms Roslin Petion of Tete a Pied has sneaked me a few preview skins from the soon to be released Vivant line...and I'm in luuurvvveeee...and couldn't resist passing along a little sneak peek of these sweet new makeups!!

As always, Roslin has really outdone herself with some really fantastic and imaginative new makeups...this is but a very very very small sample. You'll be able to see them all when the Vivant line is released on Monday (8/20/07). TaP group members and invited guests will get a sneak preview on Sunday (8/19/07). ;)

So enough-a that..on with the pretties!!

One part of the new line is the 'Basic' series...which are sort of basic color palletes done in one lip color with 3 differing eye shadow styles. What I have here is the Basic Pink series:

This is the Basic Pink 1 in the Blush skin tone.

Basic Pink 2 also in the Blush skin tone.

Anddd..this is the Basic Pink 3 in the Buff skin tone.

I love the shimmery, pouty lips...and the great shading on the nose. Also the brows are EXQUISITE (and...yeyyy...nicely modable too!!). The eyes, as always, are exquisite...I especially love the smokiness of the #3 Basics.

Also some decidedly NON basic makeups are included in the new line...including this one...which I L O V E...the Feline series:

This one's my fave...it's Feline 1 in the Buff skin tone. Heavy liner + nude lips is one of my favorite looks...and I adore the 'cat's eye' liner Roslin did here. It's sort of a bit of a Mod look...and I H E A R T it!!!

This is the Feline 2 in the Buff skin tone. As you can see...a bit more color...but it's sooo subtly done...it's just divine.

Anddd this is the Feline 3 in the Buff skin tone. The Mistress of the Red Lip (remember Janvier & Fevrier? OMG) strikes again...with these shimmery, pouty, lighter red lips that come off more like sweet cherry punch than uber seductress.

BTW...I realize I only talk about makeup here...but trust me...the rest of the skin is fab too...including the awesome TaP cleavage wooo...but I'm going to leave it to the many bloggers who are more accustomed to blogging skin to show you some of the finer points! I'm a make-up girl myself!! ;)

Okies I've put a new Subscribe-O-Matic up in the main shop in Selby.

After testing it out...I'm really pleased with how it works...and I think y'all will be too!! It's easy to use...and so nice to be able to get the same notices, announcements, & freebies without the use of a valuable group slot or the annoyance of group chatter from others!!

I've closed join on the CKS group for now...and asked group members to try out the subscribe-o-matic and give me some feedback. I'm going on the assumption that they're gonna find it as great as I have thus far...and the plan is to phase out and close the CKS group...probably at the end of August.

Okies so I've been mulling over doing some vendor changes and in an effort to not decide everyone thinks like me...I'd like to call all you shoppers out there to give me some input!!

When you make a purchase...do you prefer to get:

1) Your goodies in a folder. (which goes directly into your inventory and requires no rezzing/opening)

2) Your goodies in a box. (which you subsequently have to rez and open)

3) Your goodies...regardless of which of the above methods is used. :P

Okies well...summer vaca is finally over for me!!

I've been getting back into work (even tho no newness yet...I've had a lot of catching up to do...and still lots left...newness soon like...SOON tho!! :D) and SO to mark the return from summer break we're having an impromptu half price sale at the CKS Designs main shop in Selby.

Everything is marked down to at least half the normal price until noon game time on Wednesdsay (8/15/07). I'm not sure *exactly* when we'll sneak in and do the price changes on Wednesday...but sometime after noon...;)

Be aware this is *only* items in the CKS Designs main shop in Selby. Items on SlExchange, SlBoutique, & at satellite shops will not be included.

That Music Thingie Over There

Sooo..I updated my music thingie again..

I've been using the Imeem doohickiethingermajiggie but they've gone to a lot of 30 second clips. I really cba to dig up any info on why but basically keeping a list of things you find there is a pita cos you never know when they're gonna be truncated.

Also I don't want to spend 82 hours uploading musics to Imeem simply so I can blog it sooo..I've decided to just start a new list and upload songs here and there as I feel like it. Which means there is the strong possiblity it could NEVER be updated again. o.O

Hehe.

Anyway for whatever reason this past weekend I've been on a No Doubt kick...and I just had forgotten what a wonderful song 'Running' is. So there you go...it's the only song on the list for now...but I can totally deal with hearing it when I load my blog cos I just think it's so sweet and perfect.

Someday I'll add more songs to the list. <33

Mostly just keeping myself busy in world spending time with friends and taking a break from CKS and from other projects I've been working on...and getting caught up on some other things...and just kicking back and having some fun...as well as just having a little more time NOT doing SL things at all. (Yeah you know...that mythical RW place everyone talks about...)

Anyyywhoooo...my summer break is over and I'm digging back into work and such. I've been (I hope) keeping up with customer requests and CKS-related inquiries and such but if there's anything I've missed please don't hesitate to nudge me and tell me again! If I didn't respond to something..it's not cos I was ignoring you...it's just cos I didn't see it!!

Sooo once I get the ol blog updated a bit and get my email inbox under control...I'm gonna dive into ps...so look for a lil newness & prettiesss soon!!

Gots some new stuffies I did for the Carl Crabe show over the weekend...that I'm *finally* blogging about! ;)

I'm sort of excited about these outfits...#1 because I really love them all and #2 because a couple of them represent my first (and maybe last lol) foray into making shoes. They're all 60's/retro/mod-style outfits...and I had a lot of fun just playing with textures and prims and imagination when putting them together. Hopefully y'all enjoy them as much as I have!!

Those out there who know me know that I work frequently in this genre of fashion...I love the boldness and creative freedom it allows...and so when it came to naming this time I decided to use the names 3 of the most influential fashion districts of 60's London...really the birthplace & center of 'mod' fashion at the time.

'Chelsea' is a white babydoll-style minidress with a crocheted layer over a linen lining. I love how this one came out...the bodice has a very delicate look...and I love how the layers work together in the skirt. White knee-high vinyl boots are also included...and earrings and a bangle bracelet in a black/white geometric print to break up the allll white of the dress a bit. This one is prolly my fave of the three...definitely a very tradtional 60's look...anddd here's a piccie! :)

'Kensington', to me, has a bit more of an edgy, dramatic feel. It's a one-piece shorts suit/romper-style outfit in black crepe with sheer black sleeves, lots of ruffles, and a low-slung belt. I decided to use black/white polka dot patterns for the accent textures...I felt it gave it a bit more of a dramatic contrast and geometric look. The shoes, platform wedges which also feature the polka-dotted textures & earrings are also included. Clearly I'm not the best shoemaker on the grid (well..or even close..haha)...but I did have fun with these and hopefully I'll get better in the future. Mostly, this outfit is all about the fun, sort of outrageous & dramatic side of mod fashion...and I really had a lot of fun creating it. Here's a piccie!! ;)

Last up is 'Soho'...which is a bit dressier and a whole lot brighter than the others! It's a satin minidress with a keyhole bodice, gradient color scheme and a paisley pattern that's sparse on top and 'falling' to a concentrated border on the skirt hem. A sheer, tulle, 'trapeze-style' skirt (also with the same gradiated color and paisley trim) flows gracefully over the satin...falling a bit further onto the thigh. (Glitch pants are included...cos mesh skirts w/o glitch pants make me weep!! :/). A matching satiny bangle bracelet is also included...along with a choice of 5 vibrant, bold colors. 60's fashion is currently very hot in the rw right now...and to me this dress represents a bit of a modern take on the genre...and would even be right at home with a pair of leggings beneath to dress it down a bit! Anywhoooo...piccies belowwww!!! :)

They're all available at CKS Designs in Selby, and will be on SLexchange, & SLboutique sometime tonight...pending my procrastinatory abilities, which are considerable. Chelsea & Kensington are $L350 each...and Soho is $L200 single/$L500 pack of 5.

Relay For Life Goodies!!

Happy Monday everyone!! :D

I'm just updating this to let everyone know that the RFL goodies I put up for yesterday's Midway Fair are now in the CKSD Main Shop in Selby. I've put them, along with the Undies For Life on the back left windows next to the MobVend. I'm also getting ready to put them up on SLexchange & SLboutique in just a few mins here!! At some point this week we're going to have a separate kiosk for RFL goodies on a plot of land adjacent to the main shop...I'll post that up along with a lm once it's finished! ;)

Just a reminder that 100% of the sales of the RFL items go to Relay For Life...and the items will only be available til about the first week in August...so get 'em while you can and help this worthy cause!!

Also repeating a couple of things from the Undies post back in April:

A word of caution about the RFL vendors...they DO NOT give change. All money paid into them is sent DIRECTLY on to Jade Lily, the SLRFL event chairperson. Therefore...be extra careful to not put in less than the right amount...cos if you put less than the price of the item...no refund...no item! Of course you can always pay more than the item price if you'd like to make a larger donation, and you'll still get your goodies! ;)

Also, pledge cards are included in each package, should you wish to make further donations. All you have to do is rez the pledge card on the ground and pay it...the money paid in will be forwarded directly to Jade. You can also pass copies of the card to your friends who would like to donate!!

The newer items are again the halter & tube-style baby doll tops. They come in packs of 6, with matching bangle bracelets for each, for $L250/pack. Two packs are available. I've included another set of piccies of the new stuffs below!! TTFN!! <33
